Remove the left navigation menu in SharePoint 2013

There are a few ways to do this.

This will work, but if you also want to get rid of the space this is not going to be a solution because “Site Contents” will be still on. Check my blog for information about hiding “Site Contents”.

– Open the  site in SharePoint Designer
– Uncheck Display Quick Launch under Settings
– Save

Even if you hide “Site Contents”, the space won’t be deleted. Try the following to delete the space used for the Left Navigation Menu if that is what you want.

Add the following code to your existing .css file if you are using one or add the code to a Script Editor webpart.

<style>
.ms-core-navigation { DISPLAY: none }
#contentBox { margin-left: 0px }
</style>

When you delete the left navigation menu, the web parts will be moved to the left. Modify the value of the margin-left if you want to add space between the left margin and the web part.
